ABIODUN OLUSEYI AKINWUNMI

The Litigation Management Unit of the firm is co-led by Seyi Akinwunmi a founding partner of the firm. He has had over 20 (twenty) years experience as a Legal Practitioner, his specialization is in corporate restructurings, secured credit transactions, debt and corporate recovery, insolvency and turn around strategies. He has been involved in various significant domestic reorganizations, complex financial transactions, insolvency, creditors’ rights, syndicated loan transactions and recoveries, as well as intricate corporate insolvency litigation matters.
Mr. Akinwunmi is a Fellow of Business Recovery in Nigeria (FBR), a founding member and current General Secretary of the Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria (BRIPAN), a member of Insol International, the International Federation of Insolvency Practitioners, a member of the Insolvency and Creditors Committee of the International Bar Association and International, the Federation of Insolvency Practitioners, has attended various international workshops and also a Member of R3, Association of Business Recovery Professionals, (Rescue, Recovery, Renewal) based in the U.K. He is a regular participant at World Congress of Insol insolvency courses organised by Insol International and also by R3, Association of Business Recovery Professional in the U.K. and has also delivered papers on creditors rights and insolvency at various local and international conferences and at in-house workshops of Financial Institutions.
He is for the second consecutive year, the sole Nigerian contributor to the “Insolvency Case Study: IBA/World Bank/Harvard University Research Project” the most comprehensive analysis on comparative insolvency ever undertaken. He is also the Nigerian contributor to the international insolvency text “Recognition and Enforcement of Cross Border Insolvency” recently updated by Insol International.
